Congress wins Karnataka assembly elections, claims mandate for change

The Congress party has emerged victorious in the Karnataka assembly elections held on May 10, 2023, defeating the incumbent BJP government led by Basavaraj Bommai. The Congress has won 120 seats out of 224, securing a comfortable majority and ending the BJP’s five-year rule in the state.
